Lemon & Lime Curd recipe

Lemon & lime curd is a delightful treat, which can be used as a great layer in baking, with biscuit dough, for example, rolls and cakes, in baskets and tartlets. It is best for pancakes and fritters. Also it is good for tea.


• Lemons – 2 pcs.
• Limes – 2 pcs.
• Sugar – 200 g
• Eggs – 3 pcs.
• Butter – 60 g


  • Wash lemons and limes and clean off zest with special knife or a fine grater. Try do not touch on a white part, it is bitter.
  • Mix zest with sugar and left to saturate with citrus flavor.
  • Squeeze the juice from the fruits. To get a lot of juice, lemons and limes warm in microwave just about 30 seconds. You’ll get about ? cup of juice.
  • Pour the juice into the sugar, add butter in small pieces, stir and melt in a small heat.
  • Whisk the egg until smooth, but not to the foam.
  • Pour in a thin stream into the mixture constantlystirring for about 15 minutes, until the custard thickens.
  • Remove the cream from the heat, cool and pour into jars.
